Accelerating Solutions with Global Impact
The problems we face require a deep understanding of the fundamentals of science fused with tremendous innovation. Caltech thrives on challenges of this magnitude, and the Resnick Sustainability Institute (RSI) accelerates our capacity to respond.
The RSI seeds new science and engineering research across campus. The fundamental insights gained are then directed towards implementation and scale-up for real-world impact. We support and foster collaborations on Caltech's campus that leverage our association with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and other national laboratories, and apply them toward grand challenges in sustainability.
Our Research is Broadly Focused in Four Crucial Initiatives
Through these interconnected initiatives, we aim for global impact by addressing complex, multi-faceted issues. The initiatives will lead to breakthroughs needed to drive change; breakthroughs that both improve quality of life, and retain the integrity of nature.
